Recording Preferences & Prep

Our conversation will be recorded on Riverside (a high-quality recording platform), and you’ll receive a calendar invitation with a link to join once your booking is confirmed.

Episodes usually last around 60 minutes, but this is flexible depending on your schedule.

The podcast is designed to feel light-hearted and conversational so there’s no need to over-prepare. Guests are encouraged to show up as themselves.

If you have specific talking points you’d like to cover, or topics you’d prefer to avoid, just let either Russ or myself know.

Tips for a Great Recording

1

Wear headphones (if possible)

This prevents echo. If you don’t have any, keep your speaker volume low.
2

Sit close to the camera

Aim for a head-and-shoulders frame, rather than being far away in the shot.
3

Check your lighting

Sit facing a window or use a lamp in front of you. Avoid strong backlight, which makes you appear in shadow.
4

Choose a quiet room

Background noise, TVs, or pets can easily distract.
5

Use a stable internet connection

If possible, plug in via ethernet or sit near your router for a stronger signal.
6

Mute notifications

Switch phones and computers to silent or Do Not Disturb.
7

Test your setup

Do a quick mic and camera check a few minutes before we start so you feel confident.
