My Approach

A DIFFERENT KIND OF THERAPY

My work in both individuals counselling and couples therapy is vigorous and lively, honest and encouraging, positive and stimulating. I aim to ensure that everyone I support feels truly cared for and guided in their journey to become healthier, stronger and more in tune with themselves, their loved ones and the world around them.

I would describe myself as deeply empathic and sensitive and I care greatly about the quality of the relationships I build with my clients.

I believe that good psychological health can be achieved only if we are willing to take increasing responsibility for the quality and outcome of our own lives. That means, we must venture into the shadowy underworld of our unconscious selves, as this is where we will discover what drives us towards failure, or towards success. In my work with clients, I strongly advocate and encourage this work. I will help you make sense of yourself, and that will enable you to make progress with the goals you set for yourself in our work, which we will review at regular intervals.

I have faith in people’s capacity to aim up towards the fulfilment of their own potential. This faith is deep and profound and something I have come to trust after working with people for more than two decades. Developing real health for ourselves, and becoming stronger and more skilful in life, is a sure-fire way of reducing anxiety and depression, and is more effective than any pill we might be prescribed, and with none of the harmful side-effects.

My work with clients is centred on building authentic, conscious, and responsive relationships within the therapeutic setting. I bring not only my training to my work; I bring my authentic self – fully present in mind and body.
